A resident of rural De Pere, Carole joined the De Pere Greenwood Cemetery board in 2024. Prior to her retirement in 2019 and relocating to De Pere, Carole dedicated 30 years to journalism, notably serving as a masthead correspondent for the Wisconsin State Farmer for 26 years. Her background also includes extensive experience in sustainable horticulture, managing a 24-acre property with diverse gardens, 44 fruit trees, and a “better than organic” successful Farmers’ Market stand of produce, jam, cider, and honey from their apiary.
During a challenging period, Carole’s family was blessed by God to find De Pere Greenwood Cemetery and are deeply appreciative of the comfort and belonging her family found. Carole is committed to its vision to honor and preserve its heritage, serve and respect the present, and provide a lasting legacy for the future in a park-like setting. Her servant heart not only involves the cemetery, but also the Unity Hospice Resale Shoppe East in De Pere.
In her pastime she enjoys gardening and time on the water with her husband, daughter, son-in-law, and two grandsons making cherished memories.
